Santa ClausMost of us grow with the vision of Santa Claus flying on his cart on Christmas Eve pulled by his beloved reindeers giving gift to children. He is synonym to the spirit of Christmas. Every year eager children wake up on the Christmas morning to open their gifts. Santa Claus is the legendary figure who though being just a myth lives in the heart of every child. Santa as he is lovingly called is believed to be living in the north pole with his wife Mrs. Claus and his eight reindeers and the little elves who work laboriously in the workshop wrapping gifts for all the good children around the world. Many of the Christmas carols are based on Santa Claus. Though his existence is not accepted by all there are only few who have not tried to be good through the year to ask Santa for their favorite toy during Christmas. Legendary Santa has a long white beard and is dressed in red carrying a bundle of gifts on his back. To keep this custom alive many people dress up as Santa and move around pleasing children and giving them small tokens. Many websites and postal services also offer to send letters to Santa which are replied by volunteers. Father Christmas, Kris Kringle or Saint Nicholas are some of other names used to refer to our beloved Christmas icon. Some people feel that he is responsible for materializing Christmas and his existence is against the religious significance and that the parents should not make their children believe in his existence. But no matter what the facts and views Santa will be remembered every Christmas because a Christmas without Santa is like no Christmas at all.
